Semester break progress until WEEK 1

OBJECTIVE :
1.      Complete the component purchasing
2.      Assemble the main board

PROCEDURE :
1.      In the first two week, a lot of research on suitable component to be used is done. Mostly via webs as below

2.      Most of the component are from UK and USA so its approximately three weeks to a month to reach here but a few component like transistor 2N232 by Texas instrument from Singapore takes a week.
3.      While waiting for the component, the soldering part started and the PIC holder is used to facilitate the IC exchange later.

4.      For the sensor part, the research is in progress to find out the most suitable technique to attach the LED and the Light to frequency and have a firm placement on finger.


CONCLUSION:
            There are various parameters to compare to determine the suitable component. For this FYP, cost is one of the important parameter besides the functionality.  After an early calculation for the total cost of the component to build 1 unit of pulse oximeter reach RM70. If doing a bulk (100 unit) it is possible to cut the cost about  50%
